Assemblywoman Nancy F. Muñoz was sworn into office on May 21, 2009, to complete the unexpired term of her late husband Assemblyman Eric Muñoz.

On November 7, 2023 she was elected to her Eighth 2-year term representing the 21st Legislative District, which includes 19 towns in Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, and Union Counties.
